Jojo Moyes

Jojo Moyes was born in 1969 and grew up in London. After attending Royal Holloway and Bedford New College, she won a bursary awarded by the Independent to train as a journalist. She worked at the Independent until 2001, apart from a year at the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong, and covered stories such as the death of Princess Diana, the troubles in Belfast, and the handover of Hong Kong. She is the author of six novels. Foreign Fruit, The Ship of Brides, and Silver Bay were all shortlisted for the RNA Novel of the Year Award, Foreign Fruit winning the prize in 2004. Silver Bay was also shortlisted for the inaugural Good Housekeeping Book Award.

She lives on a farm in Essex with her husband, journalist Charles Arthur, and their three children, two horses, four hens and a dog and cat.
