For event organisers

One of our main purposes in setting up the New Romantics is to share our passion for the best of the genre - and all our members are experienced public speakers and interviewees, available for events throughout the country. Whether you're a reader development librarian planning an event, or a festival organiser, we can offer you a range of talks and events.

Our expertise and personal interests are diverse: Sarah Duncan has experience of teaching creative writing, as well as a background as a stage and TV actress, while Milly Johnson is a regular on her local radio stations and has a great comic touch, honed by her work writing for greetings cards. Matt Dunn and Jojo Moyes are very popular speakers at festivals around the country including Guildford and Oxford, while Kate Harrison has lectured new writers, experienced novelists and even Chinese TV producers in creative thinking and ideas generation. Lucy Diamond has spoken to audiences of all ages about her adult novels, and her many novels for children, while Veronica Henry has insights into both writing fiction and for TV and radio, as a regular script-writer for Holby and The Archers.

Take a look at our sample events programmes but remember these are just starting points - we can tailor talks and discussions to meet your needs, whether you want to engage readers at your library or bookshop event, or provoke a lively debate on the merits (and otherwise) of books about love.
